On passover we celebrate the exodus of the Jews from Egypt. In my family during the seder we steal the afikomen from my grandpa and hide it somewhere. Our seder is very long. Usually after the seder the kids get to stay at my grandparents house and we all have a big sleepover and we stay up VERY!!! late. Passover is AWESOME!!!!

ברוכים הבאים לסדר שלי. ההגדה מאומד חשוב. יש הרבה דברים מיוחדים. במשפחה שלי אוכלים מצה וטמפטי. ואנחנו אוכלים מצה פיצה. אנחנו חוגגים פסח כי חג הפסח על בני ישראל ויציאת ממצרים. ושבני ישראל אין זמן לאפות לחם והם אופים מצה וזו הסיבה שאנחנו אוכלים מצה.

Kadash is when we have four cups of wine (or grape juice). We only have a little at a time so at the fourth cup our glasses are full. 

During urchatz we wash our hands before we eat matza. Then we wash our hands again before we have shulchan ourech. 

During Karpas we dip the greens in the salt water. We have salt water to remember the tears of the jews when they cried from getting whipped so much by the Egyptians.   

During Yachatz we break the middle of the matza we take half to eat and hide the other for the afikoman.In my family this is the time when all the couzins steal the matza from my grandpa. Its a lot of fun!!!

Pour the second glass of wine for everyone.

The Haggadah doesn’t tell the story of Passover in a linear fashion. We don’t hear of Moses being found by the daughter of Pharaoh – actually, we don’t hear much of Moses at all. Instead, we get an impressionistic collection of songs, images, and stories of both the Exodus from Egypt and from Passover celebrations through the centuries. Some say that minimizing the role of Moses keeps us focused on the miracles God performed for us. Others insist that we keep the focus on the role that every member of the community has in bringing about positive change.

the fantastic four questions

“The Four Children” provides an opportunity to talk about modern-day labels and how we think of people with varying strengths and weaknesses. Can any child really be summarized with one terse label? Can any individual be described so succinctly – wise, wicked, simple, and not knowing how to ask? Advocates for children with learning differences (or anyone with "special needs") often talk about “people-first language.” For example, we talk about a “child with autism” but not an “autistic child;” we refer to “children with learning disabilities” but not “learning disabled children.” The differences may seem slight. But we use people-first language to recognize the whole person and not identify him/her by any one ability or disability. So, too, we can think about – and discuss - the four children of the Passover seder as parts of a whole.

We tell the story of how the jews got out of Egypt. 

in this section of the seder we tell the story of the exodus of the israelites and how god sent the ten plagues to Egypt so pharaoh would let the jews go. The Plauges were 1:blood, 2: frogs, 3: lice, 4:wild animals, 5: dead animals, 6: boils, 7:hail, 8: locusts, 9: darkness, and lastly god killing the first born Egyptians. It was pretty bad right?   

Raise the second cup of wine

In every generation a person is obligated to regard himself as if he had come out of Egypt, as it is written: "You shall tell your child on that day, it is because of this that the Lord did for me when I left Egypt."

We praise God, Ruler of Everything, who redeemed us and our ancestors from Egypt, enabling us to reach this night and eat matzah and bitter herbs. May we continue to reach future holidays in peace and happiness.

We wash our hands a second time before we eat. But unlike Urchatz we say the bracha for our hands. We say this because we are about to eat a meal where as Urchatz we are not about to eat a meal. Also it says in the torah that you cant say the bracha for washing your hands twice. 

The blessing over the meal and matzah | motzi matzah | מוֹצִיא מַצָּה

The familiar hamotzi blessing marks the formal start of the meal. Because we are using matzah instead of bread, we add a blessing celebrating this mitzvah.

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, הַמּוֹצִיא לֶֽחֶם מִן הָאָֽרֶץ

We praise God, Ruler of Everything, who brings bread from the land.

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָֽׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתַָיו וְצִוָּֽנוּ עַל אֲכִילַת מַצָּה

Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al achilat matzah.

We praise God, Ruler of Everything, who made us holy through obligations, commanding us to eat matzah.

Distribute and eat the top and middle matzah for everyone to eat.

During this time in the seder we eat the Maror to remind us about the bitter times the jews had in Egypt. Its SO bitter!!!

We make delicious sandwiches by putting marror and charoset in the matzah. In my family the day before we have the seder we make charoset all day. I eat more then i make 

With all that hard work and praying LETS EAT!!!

Tzufan is a fun activity. Its the Afikoman part where you hide the matzah, and anyone tries to find it. It is a fun thing to do.

During Bareich we say thank you to god for the meal we just ate. After (in my family) my grandparents tell stories abut their lives and how during their honeymoon lots of crazy things happened to them (they are hilarious)

The Cup of Elijah

We now refill our wine glasses one last time and open the front door to invite the prophet Elijah to join our seder.

In the Bible, Elijah was a fierce defender of God to a disbelieving people. At the end of his life, rather than dying, he was whisked away to heaven. Tradition holds that he will return in advance of messianic days to herald a new era of peace, so we set a place for Elijah at many joyous, hopeful Jewish occasions, such as a baby’s bris and the Passover seder.

During nirtzah we talk and slowly end the seder. It is SO much fun!

After the seder everybody tells stories and sings songs and hangs out. Then all the kids stay at our grandparents house for a sleepover and we stay up very late and having fun
